Before design, there was drawing. Michael’s creative foundation is rooted in the fine arts—pastel, printmaking, and painting. Trained in classical technique and inspired by summers painting en plein air in Italy, his work carries a sensitivity to form, light, and composition that continues to inform his approach to design today. Each project begins with the same principles he learned through art: observation, balance, and emotion translated through craft.
